Elementary Library

On Friday, January 30th, 36 students from grades 2-6 at Luverne Elementary had lunch and playtime at Turner Park.  These students worked very hard during the first semester to reach Accelerated Reader goals.  Accelerated Reader is a computer-based program used to enhance comprehension.  Students read a book or story and then take a test on the computer.  Students receive points for scoring well on these tests.  To receive rewards, students must maintain an 80 average on the tests taken. 

Students from 2nd grade reaching a goal of 30 points are Callie Armstrong, Jayden Carlos, GoWoon Choi, Gracie Free, Wyatt Fullington, Harley Hall, Dakovyon Oliver, Tobey Powell, Bryant Rushing, Colby Shelton, Tanner Watson and Natalie Weaver.  Students from 3rd grade reaching a goal of 40 points are Nick Baugh, Antwonja Brantley, Cassidy Brooks, Tyler Harris, DaKyong Heo, Ethan Jimenez, Dustin Jordan, Echo Mann, Paige McGough, Hye Jin Oh, Ashlin Osbourn, Hunter Owens, Britney Redmon, Nathan Renfroe, Katie Marie Smith, Payton Spivey, Jenny Summers, and Kaylin Walker.  5th grade students reaching a goal of 50 points are Kasey Hall, Kevin Oh, and Kalon Washington.  6th grade students meeting a goal of 60 points are Marli Alford, Seung Oh, and Taylor Stewart.
